Meteorological Solutions
Providing specialized meteorological services for legal, agricultural, and industrial needs across the Pacific Northwest. Trusted expertise rooted in decades of operational forecasting.
Jim Little is a veteran meteorologist with over 40 years of experience in atmospheric science, broadcasting, and operational forecasting.
His career began in the United States Air Force, where he served for five years before becoming a fixture in Portland television. Jim is one of the few meteorologists to have served as a lead forecaster for three major network affiliates in Portland: KGW (NBC), KATU (ABC), and KOIN (CBS).
Transitioning from broadcast to government service, Jim brought his expertise to the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). There, he specialized in fire weather forecasting, smoke management, and providing critical decision-support services for wildfire suppression.
Today, through Weather NorthWest, Jim provides consulting services that leverage his deep understanding of the region's unique microclimates.
